Dehydrated Malt Extract Agar Powder (MEA) 1/4lb (114g)
To make 20 to 25 100 X 15mm petri dishes of MEA agar bring 3.25 cups (780ml) of water to a gentle boil. Measure 4.5 tablespoons (38g) of MEA powder. While stirring add MEA powder and reduce heat to a simmer for 10 minutes or until fully dissolved. Pour liquid MEA agar into a beaker or equivalent and sterilize at 15 psi for 30 minutes. Allow to cool for approximately 1 hour inside of the pressure cooker before removing. Pour MEA agar into sterilized petri dishes as desired. Store in a cool dry location
