The olive oysterling grows in a fan like shape on coniferous and deciduous trees.
It has bright yellow orange gills on the underside with an olive surface. It can be
cultivated by inoculating hardwood logs such as sugar maple, beech or oak.
Fruiting occurs when the temperature drops below 50 degrees Fahrenheit and it
loves high humidity. Fresh olive oysterlings have a buttery texture when sauteed,
but they can also be dried.
