Description

A Portobello mushroom is a type of edible mushroom that is often used in cooking. It is a large, flat mushroom with a brown, spongy cap and a meaty texture. The mushroom is native to Europe and is named after the town of Portobello in Scotland. It is commonly used as a vegetarian alternative to meat in dishes such as sandwiches and pasta, as it has a savory and slightly nutty flavor. Portobello mushrooms are high in nutrients and are a good source of vitamin D, potassium, and selenium. They can be grilled, roasted, or used in soups and stews.

Fully colonized MEA agar wedge. This is a small specimen taken from an agar plate. The agar wedge is fully colonized with your mushroom culture. A colonized agar wedge is used in expanding the mushroom culture it is colonized with. When you receive your colonized agar wedge you can inoculate a whole agar plate, liquid culture or sterilized mushroom substrate with it, or store it for future use.

In some cases, depending on the culture you choose we may need to make it. Please allow at least 1 week business time for us to ship out your culture.
