Growth is very slow — expect 3-6 weeks to cover a 100mm plate at an optimal temperature of 59–64°F. Note: this is a psychrophilic species with specific nutritional requirements including sucrose, peptone, and appropriate C:N ratio — use carefully designed semi-synthetic media and patient sub-68°F incubation, as cultures are easily overshadowed by contaminants.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMushroom Plate Culture Use\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMushroom plate cultures, typically on MEA culture plates, are used to grow and preserve mycelium. Out-Grow recommends you replate your mushroom plate culture every 6 months to ensure longevity of your purchase.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStore fully colonized plates at 35–43°F in darkness, in sealed containers preventing desiccation. Plan to transfer every 3-6 months given its inherently slow growth and metabolism.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMushroom Plate Cultures Are Made to Order\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll mushroom culture plates are made to order. Once your order is received, Out-Grow will inoculate your plate within 1-3 days. Your mushroom plate culture will then be incubated in our mycology lab for approximately 7-14 days, or until clean healthy mycelium has been verified by our mycologist. Once verified, your order will be shipped promptly.
