Growth is moderate, typically colonizing a 100mm plate in approximately 14-21 days at an optimal temperature of 68–73°F. Note: robust growth and strong pigment production both require ground wood added to malt agar — without a wood component, growth and blue-green coloration will be significantly reduced.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMushroom Plate Culture Use\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMushroom plate cultures, typically on MEA culture plates, are used to grow and preserve mycelium. In most cases, sterile transfers of agar wedges from this plate are used to inoculate fresh culture media or sterilized grain spawn.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMushroom Plate Culture Storage\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYour mushroom plate culture can be wrapped in parafilm and stored at normal room temps, in a sealed baggie, for up to 6 months. Out-Grow recommends you replate your mushroom plate culture every 6 months to ensure longevity of your purchase.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStore fully colonized plates at 35–43°F in darkness, sealed on moist plates. Plan to transfer every 2-3 months, keeping at least one set of strongly pigmented wood-agar plates as a reference master culture.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMushroom Plate Cultures Are Made to Order\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll mushroom culture plates are made to order. Once your order is received, Out-Grow will inoculate your plate within 1-3 days. Your mushroom plate culture will then be incubated in our mycology lab for approximately 7-14 days, or until clean healthy mycelium has been verified by our mycologist. Once verified, your order will be shipped promptly.
