Growth is slow, with colonies remaining visually thin even as they expand radially. Note: while Mycena deeptha is bioluminescent, the glow is not readily visible to the naked eye — long-exposure photography in complete darkness is required to capture the subtle luminescence of the mycelium. Handle with clean technique as the sparse growth makes this species more susceptible to contamination than denser, faster-growing cultures.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMushroom Plate Culture Use\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMushroom plate cultures, typically on MEA culture plates, are used to grow and preserve mycelium. In most cases, sterile transfers of agar wedges from this plate are used to inoculate fresh culture media or sterilized grain spawn.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMushroom Plate Culture Storage\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYour mushroom plate culture can be wrapped in parafilm and stored at normal room temps, in a sealed baggie, for up to 6 months. Out-Grow recommends you replate your mushroom plate culture every 6 months to ensure longevity of your purchase.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStore fully colonized plates at 35–43°F in darkness, sealed to prevent desiccation. Plan to transfer every 1-2 months, as the thin mycelium can decline quickly without regular subculturing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMushroom Plate Cultures Are Made to Order\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll mushroom culture plates are made to order. Once your order is received, Out-Grow will inoculate your plate within 1-3 days. Your mushroom plate culture will then be incubated in our mycology lab for approximately 7-14 days, or until clean healthy mycelium has been verified by our mycologist. Once verified, your order will be shipped promptly.
