Healthy wild-type dikaryotic cultures grow more rapidly and less compactly than degenerate strains. Routine plate-level comparison of working strains against a reference culture is a good quality control measure, as degenerate cultures are associated with poor crop performance. Once your order is received, Out-Grow will inoculate your plate within 1-3 days.
