Some pigmented mycelium has also been observed on certain media. Simple rich media like PDA alone may be suboptimal; soil and soil-extract agars with carefully controlled cool temperatures work well for successful early mycelial development. Growth can be slow and variable, with activity observed even at temperatures as low as 36°F following ascospore germination.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMushroom Plate Culture Use\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMushroom plate cultures, typically on MEA culture plates, are used to grow and preserve mycelium. In most cases, sterile transfers of agar wedges from this plate are used to inoculate fresh culture media or sterilized grain spawn.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eMushroom Plate Culture Storage\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYour mushroom plate culture can be wrapped in parafilm and stored at normal room temps, in a sealed baggie, for up to 6 months. Out-Grow recommends you replate your mushroom plate culture every 6 months to ensure longevity of your purchase.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTransfer your Yellow Morel mycelium to fresh MEA every 3–4 months to keep your culture healthy and vigorous.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n\u003ch3\u003eMushroom Plate Cultures Are Made to Order\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll mushroom culture plates are made to order. Once your order is received, Out-Grow will inoculate your plate within 1-3 days. Your mushroom plate culture will then be incubated in our mycology lab for approximately 7-14 days, or until clean healthy mycelium has been verified by our mycologist. Once verified, your order will be shipped promptly.
