Ghost Fungus (Omphalotus nidiformis)
Grow your own bioluminescent Ghost Fungus mushrooms with liquid culture
Omphalotus nidiformis, also known as Ghost Fungus originated from India
although is now mostly found in southern Australia and Tasmania. It is
bioluminescent and only used for decoration as it is poisonous. It can be
confused with an edible pleurotus during the day but thankfully, a little dark room
test will determine if it is a Ghost Fungus as it will glow.
Ghost Fungus grows in a fan like shape that is up to 30 cm across. It has cream
colored caps with shades of orange, brown, purple or bluish-black. Growing in
overlapping clusters, it can grow on a wide variety of dead or diseased wood and
causes white rot.
Out-Grow is proud to present a full line of edible and medicinal mushroom
cultures. Economically priced so that everyone can enjoy the wonderful hobby
and benefits of mushroom cultivation. Our cultures are made by experts and are
100% clean and viable.
The liquid culture syringes are between 10 and 12cc and are ready to inject to
your substrate of choice such as sterilized rye berries.
