Cloud Ear Mushrooms 1oz of Dehydrated Mushrooms

Cloud ear mushrooms are a ruffle-edged, thin black mushroom very similar in appearance, texture and taste to wood ear mushrooms, but smaller in size and slightly more mild in flavor.

  • Dark brown to black in color
  • Firm, smooth, puffy texture and delicate, mild flavor
  • Popular in Chinese cooking
  • Cloud ears have a unique, firm texture that is great in softer or smoother dishes where a textural contrast is desired
  • Wonderful in stir-fries or salads, or added to stuffing's
  • Can be used in place of the more traditional wood ear mushrooms in Chinese hot and sour soup

Rinse mushrooms under cold running water to remove any possible debris. To rehydrate prior to use, place desired amount into a bowl covered with boiling water and let soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse well, or add directly to recipe that will cook for at least 25 minutes.
