Phellinus linteus, or meshimakobu, is native to China, Korea and Japan. It is helpful for diabetics in regulating their blood sugar levels, treating haemorrhage and excessive bleeding.* Research has shown that it has potential in controlling haemophilia which is a disorder that prevents proper blood clotting. In Asia, this medicinal mushroom is often consumed in the form of a tea as a medicinal drink. They have used it for hundreds of years to aid with diarrhoea, digestive issues, chancers and other ailments. It contains the polysaccharides Beta D-Glucan and Lectin which help regulate the immune system.

Phellinus linteus grows on mulberry trees. Growing as a woody bracket that resembles a hoof, its color ranges from yellow to dark brown. It has a bitter taste and is mostly used to make teas and tinctures.
