Lion's Mane Liquid Culture 5 Pack — Pack Overview
The Lion's Mane Mushroom Cultures 5 Pack is something genuinely unique, five distinct strains of Hericium erinaceus, all the same species, showing how much variation exists within a single fungus when you work with it seriously over time. We sell Lion's Mane and Lion's Mane Warm Weather individually, and those are the two strains most cultivators know. The other three in this pack, Cool Weather, Commercial Strain, and Wild Clone, are available exclusively through this bundle. They are not listed as individual products anywhere else we sell. If you are building a Lion's Mane breeding program, running strain comparisons for research, or simply want the full range of erinaceus genetics we carry, this is the only place to get all five together.
Lion's Mane Liquid Culture 5 Pack — Included Species
Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) Liquid Culture
The standard Lion's Mane strain is where most cultivators start, and for good reason. It is a proven producer on supplemented hardwood sawdust, has good contamination resistance relative to most specialty species, and the all-white cascading fruiting body is both visually striking and genuinely delicious. The standard strain fruits best between 60 and 75°F, which suits most basements and climate-controlled grow tents. We have sold more of this culture than almost anything else in our catalog across all platforms combined.
Lion's Mane — Out-Grow Lab Notes
| Parameter | Out-Grow Notes |
| Culture medium | LME + dextrose, 2% + 2% in distilled water |
| Fruiting temp | 60 to 75°F |
| Substrate | Supplemented hardwood sawdust; masters mix |
| Difficulty | Beginner to intermediate — one of our most reliable specialty cultures |
| Inoculation rate | 2 to 3cc per quart of sterilized grain or hardwood substrate |
| Storage life | 6 or more months at normal room temperature |
Lion's Mane Taxonomy
- Kingdom: Fungi
- Division: Basidiomycota
- Class: Agaricomycetes
- Order: Russulales
- Family: Hericiaceae
- Genus: Hericium
- Species: Hericium erinaceus
Lion's Mane Warm Weather (Hericium erinaceus) Liquid Culture
The Warm Weather strain was developed for cultivators who run their grow spaces warmer than the standard strain prefers. It fruits reliably between 65 and 80°F, a range that covers uncontrolled spaces in spring, summer, and fall in most climates. We have had customers tell us this strain saved their Lion's Mane grow after the standard strain repeatedly stalled in their space. The mycelium appearance, substrate requirements, and functional compound profile are the same. The difference is the temperature window where it produces well.
Lion's Mane Warm Weather — Out-Grow Lab Notes
| Parameter | Out-Grow Notes |
| Culture medium | LME + dextrose, 2% + 2% in distilled water |
| Fruiting temp | 65 to 80°F — selected for performance at higher temperatures |
| Best for | Uncontrolled warm spaces, warmer climates, summer grows |
| Inoculation rate | 2 to 3cc per quart of sterilized grain or hardwood substrate |
| Storage life | 6 or more months at normal room temperature |
Lion's Mane Warm Weather Taxonomy
- Kingdom: Fungi
- Division: Basidiomycota
- Class: Agaricomycetes
- Order: Russulales
- Family: Hericiaceae
- Genus: Hericium
- Species: Hericium erinaceus
Lion's Mane Cool Weather (Hericium erinaceus) Liquid Culture
The Cool Weather strain is exclusive to this pack and not available as an individual culture at Out-Grow. It was selected from our strain library for performance at lower temperatures, fruiting in the 55 to 68°F range that the standard strain finds challenging and the warm weather strain is not optimized for. If you have a cold basement, an unheated outbuilding in autumn, or want to run Lion's Mane through winter without heating your grow space, this is the strain we would reach for. The cultivation methodology from inoculation through fruiting follows the same protocol as the other erinaceus strains.
Lion's Mane Cool Weather — Out-Grow Lab Notes

Lion's Mane Commercial Strain (Hericium erinaceus) Liquid Culture
The Commercial Strain is the Lion's Mane genetics we selected for yield consistency and pinning reliability across multiple flushes, the traits that matter most when you are producing at scale. Commercial strains are typically selected over many generations for tight, dense fruiting bodies that hold up to handling, predictable flush timing, and high biological efficiency on standardized substrate. This strain shows all of those characteristics in our production runs. It is available exclusively through this pack and is the one we would recommend to anyone moving from hobbyist to small commercial Lion's Mane production.

Lion's Mane Wild Clone (Hericium erinaceus) Liquid Culture
The Wild Clone is a tissue culture taken directly from a wild-collected Hericium erinaceus specimen rather than a laboratory-selected or commercially propagated strain. Wild clones carry the genetics of a specific fruiting body from a specific location and time, which distinguishes them from strains that have been propagated through generations of laboratory culture. They are more variable than commercial strains in some ways and more interesting in others. We preserve wild clones in our collection because genetic diversity matters, and because the characteristics of specific wild specimens sometimes produce results in cultivation that selected strains do not replicate. This one is exclusive to this pack.

| Parameter | Out-Grow Notes |
| Culture medium | LME + dextrose, 2% + 2% in distilled water |

Lion's Mane Liquid Culture 5 Pack — Cultivation Overview
All five strains follow the same basic cultivation workflow: liquid culture to sterilized grain spawn, grain to supplemented hardwood sawdust block, block to fruiting chamber. What differs is the temperature window each strain performs best in, and in the case of the Wild Clone, the genetic variability that makes it valuable for selection work. Three of the five strains are available exclusively through this pack. All syringes ship from our McConnell, Illinois lab ready to inoculate..
